Terms of use

1. What this service is
Happy Birthday Lodu lets you pay to display a photo and a message on our homepage for a fixed window of time. That is the entire product. We are not a social network, we do not host accounts, and nothing you post is permanent.
2. What you promise when you upload
- You personally know the person in the photo.
- You have their permission, or the right, to publish that image.
- The photo and message are not abusive, hateful, sexual, defamatory, illegal, or designed to mislead people about who someone is.
- You are at least 18, or have a parent or guardian doing this with you.
You confirm all three of these at checkout, before you pay. If any of them turns out to be untrue, we remove the content, keep the payment, and may refuse future bookings from you.
To be plain about the case people ask about most: an adult or sexual image, an abusive one, or a photo of someone who did not agree to be here is rejected in review, never goes live, and is not refunded. The same applies if it is reported later and we take it down. The photo is deleted from our storage and repeat uploads get the email address blocked.
3. Review and removal
Every booking is reviewed by a human before it appears publicly. We can reject or remove any card, at any time, for any reason, including after it has gone live. A rejected or removed card is not refunded, the same as every other payment on this site. See Refunds.
4. Reports
Anyone can report a live card, including the person in the photo. Reports go straight to a moderator. If a card is reported by the person shown in it, we take it down first and ask questions after. A card removed after a report is not refunded, and the uploader may be blocked from booking again.
5. Payments
Payments are processed by Razorpay. We never see or store your card details. Prices are shown in Indian rupees and include applicable taxes. A slot is only yours once payment is confirmed. Until then it is held for a short window and can be released.
All payments are final and we do not offer refunds, in any case. Booking is not reversible: once you pay, the hour is yours and the money is ours. Check the date, the hour, the photo and the message before you pay. See Refunds.
6. The midnight auction
Bidding is free and non-binding until you win. If you win, you get a payment link and a limited window to pay. Miss it and the slot goes to the next-highest bidder. Once a winning bid is paid it is final and not refunded, the same as any other payment. We may close, reopen, or cancel an auction if something breaks or someone is gaming it.
7. Availability
We try hard to keep the billboard up, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. If a technical failure on our side means your card never displayed at all, tell us and we will put it up in another slot. That is a reschedule, not a refund, and it covers our failures rather than a card taken down for breaking the guidelines.
8. Liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for anything connected to your booking is capped at what you paid for that booking. We are not liable for hurt feelings, damaged friendships, or group-chat fallout. That is the intended product experience.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be noted on this page with a new date. The terms that apply to your booking are the ones in force when you paid.
